AVIVA WOMENS TOUR 2016

(SPECIAL EVENTS) ORDER 2016

WHEREAS the Warwickshire County Council (“the Council”) as traffic authority for Warwickshire and with the written permission of neighbouring traffic authorities, Coventry City Council, Gloucestershire County Council, Oxfordshire County Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is satisfied that traffic on the roads as indicated in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 attached to this Order should be restricted for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant event thereon.

NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:-

1. This order shall come into operation on 15 June 2016 and may be cited as “The Warwickshire County Council (Aviva Womens Tour 2016) (Special Events) Order 2016”.

2. Save as provided in Articles 4 and 5, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle, other than an exempted vehicle, to use the roads as indicated in the Schedules attached to this Order for a period of up to 3 days from 15 June 2016, or until the event has completed, whichever is the earlier.

3. In this Order exempted vehicle means any vehicle being used for or in connection with the aforementioned relevant event.

4. The provisions of Article 2 of this order shall not apply to anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform, or to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulances purposes, or to any vehicle being used by an undertaker in such an emergency which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into the length of the road described in Article 2 above.

5. The provisions of Article 2 above shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs, as authorised by Section 64 of the said Act of 1984.

6. Save as provided in Articles 4 and 5, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to park in Long Street, Church Street, Sheepy Road, Derby Lane, Market Street and North Street, Atherstone for a period of up to 3 days from 15 June 2016, or until the event has completed, whichever is the earlier.

7. Save as provided in Articles 4 and 5, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to park in Shipston Road, Bridge Street, High Street, Sheep Street, Waterside and Banbury Road (at a point outside The Swans Nest Hotel) Stratford upon Avon for a period of up to 3 days from 15 June 2016, or until the event has completed, whichever is the earlier.

8. Save as provided in Articles 4 and 5, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to park in Saltisford, Barrack Street, Northgate Street, Market Street, Old Square and Holloway, Warwick for a period of up to 3 days from 15 June 2016, or until the event has completed, whichever is the earlier.

9. Save as provided in Articles 4 and 5, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to park in Main Street, Moreton Morrell for a period of up to 3 days from 15 June 2016, or until the event has completed, whichever is the earlier.

10. Save as provided in Articles 4 and 5, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to park in Field Gate Lane, Kenilworth for a period of up to 3 days from, 15 June 2016, or until the event has completed, whichever is the earlier.

11. Save as provided in Articles 4 and 5, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to park in Lower End, (Church Hill to Dasett Road) Avon Dassett for a period of up to 3 days from 15 June 2016, or until the event has completed, whichever is the earlier.

12. Whilst the provisions of Article 2 of this Order are in operation the provisions of the One Way Order in its application to St John’s Gyratory, Kenilworth is hereby temporarily reversed.

13. Whilst the provisions of Article 2 of this Order are in operation the provisions of the One Way Order in its application to Market Street, Warwick is hereby temporarily reversed.
