Dassett Pottery/Dassett Country Show Fundraising Success

Our amazing local Dassett Pottery received a very generous donation of £250 from the Avon Dassett Country Show.  They decided to see if we could create some extra value from it and used the money to make 60 mugs, organised some porcelain Christmas decoration making, Warwick Orchestral Winds agreed to play live music and we had a raffle.  Nothing for the event was sold for more than £5.  The event, in aid of Dementia UK, turned the £250 into £650.

At the same time they had fun mug making with their potters, teaching and learning new skills.

They would like to pass on many thanks to those who supported the event.  As there was a widespread powercut due to Storm Darragh, they charged many phones and had a great time.

They chose Dementia UK because research shows that people who do pottery have a significantly reduced likelihood of getting dementia (73% less likely!) and this fits with their aim of making pottery more accessible.

Well done, Dassett Pottery and Dassett Country Show!
