4 x 4 Drivers Wanted to Help Local Hospitals in Bad Weather

South Warwickshire Hospitals (CERU, Warwick, Ellen Badger) are seeking 4 x 4 owner/drivers to volunteer to help transport essential personnel in times of adverse weather. Winter is coming and snow is threatened. You will be allocated to your “local” hospital near to where you live. Xmas Wreath Making Evening at The Yew Tree

Date: Thursday 6th December

Time: 7.30-9.30ish (can’t rush creativity!)

Cost: £15 per person

Place: The Yew Tree, Avon Dassett

A fun-filled evening, lots of laughing, creating and a time to relax before the Christmas madness sets in!

You will be given all the materials you need to create your own door wreath. The only thing you need to bring with you are your own scissors/secateurs.

The bar will be open for drinks.

Wanted – Calendar/Events Writer for the Compton Chronicle

Georgina Stubbs has done a fantastic job running the monthly calendar and events items for the Compton Chronicle, the monthly magazine which is distributed in Avon Dassett, Fenny Compton and Farnborough. Unfortunately she is now moving away from the village and so a volunteer is needed to take her place. Please contact the Chronicle on comptonchronicle@yahoo.co.uk to find out more. Xmas Gathering Preparations!

Avon Dassett Xmas Celebration, St Joseph’s 16 December

We’re looking for singers and young musicians to take part again this year. We’ll have some rehearsals in The Reading Room and circulate details and You Tube links etc if you can’t make it to all the meetings. We’ve got a few instruments to share if you haven’t got your own. We’d also like some adults to have a go at The Coventry Carol.. interested?.. ring Sue 07766259497 or drop into the Yew Tree on Wednesday 7th November at 6pm

What’s On at the Yew Tree

The Yew Tree pub is currently open on Mondays to Saturdays, 5-11 pm and on Sundays 12-8 pm. No food is being served at present.

On Fridays and Saturdays, Happy Hour is from 5-7 pm with ale and Carling at £3.20 per pint and a glass of house wine £4.

On Sunday 4th November there will be sparklers, mulled wine and mince pies to celebrate Bonfire Night.

On Sunday 11th November join the village at the war memorial for a special Remembrance Day service commemorating especially the end of WWI, followed by drinks and an exhibition in the Yew Tree.
