pathways

A new project called the ‘Recovery and Wellbeing Academy’ is being launched across a number of venues in Warwickshire. This will consist of a range of informal workshops and courses delivered by professional trainers who are highly experienced in the field of Mental Health. These are designed to empower people in recognising their skills, abilities and resources and learning to become experts in their own recovery and wellbeing.

The Academy offers a learning approach to recovery and wellbeing that compliments existing services provided by Coventry & Warwickshire Mind in the County. Many courses are free of charge and are open to anyone over the age of 18 who is living in Warwickshire. The new venues will cover a range of locations such as Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford, Rugby, Mancetter, Nuneaton and Bedworth providing more access points across the County.

The overall aim is to support people in coping with the challenges of mental health issues in a positive way and in moving forward to fulfil their potential and achieve their goals in life.

New guide to care and support in Warwickshire – a crucial time for information

A new, updated Warwickshire Guide to Adult Care and Support Services has been published today in association with Warwickshire County Council. It gives readers crucial information on how to access, and pay for, care services throughout Warwickshire.

With Government plans to cap the costs of social care now postponed, it’s never been more important to have impartial information to guide you through choosing and paying for care and support. The guide helps readers to understand their options, highlights where to go for advice and gives information on how the paying for care system works.

With no cap on care costs at present, this independent information is invaluable to help navigate the system.

The new edition of the Warwickshire Guide and accompanying website give information on all aspects of arranging care and support in Warwickshire. It includes how to stay independent for as long as possible, the different care and support options available and what to look for when choosing a care provider. It also offers guidance on important issues such as paying for care and what financial assistance may be available from the local authority. There are comprehensive listings of all registered care services throughout Warwickshire, plus checklists to help you ask the right questions when visiting services.

To obtain a free copies of the Warwickshire Guide to Adult Care and Support Services please contact Warwickshire County Council on 01926 410410. It is also available throughout the region from outlets including carers’ centres, hospitals, GP surgeries, Age UK and the Alzheimer’s Society. It can be downloaded from www.carechoices.co.uk and is available in spoken word. Further help and information can be accessed via the guide’s free telephone helpline on 0800 389 2077.

Robert Chamberlain, Managing Director of the guide’s publisher, Care Choices, commented: “This is an invaluable source of information for anyone considering short or long term care in Warwickshire, and contains vital information to help people decide what type of care and support is best for them.

“With no cap on the cost of care, finding a care service for yourself or a loved one that meets their needs and is affordable can be a daunting and unfamiliar task. This new Warwickshire Guide to Adult Care and Support Services has been compiled to help people understand the process and offer them reassurance at every step of their journey.”

Care Choices is the UK’s largest independent publisher for social care and adults with additional needs. It is also the largest publisher of care directories for local authorities in England.

From August the 1st, P3 will launch a new countywide floating support service for adults over 25.

This will be a new approach, ensuring that people in Warwickshire who need help to manage and maintain their accommodation receive the right support, at the right time, and in the right place.

This flexible service will provide a bespoke package of support centred around the individual, addressing the very reasons they are struggling to maintain their property, with the purpose of helping them to move forward and continue living in their own home.

They will provide support:

  • Directly in people’s homes
  • Via their Mobile advice vehicle
  • At their new “Navigator” drop-in centres (located in Nuneaton and Rugby)
  • In community venues across the county

They will also be operating a 24hr helpline for people using our services to ensure there’s always someone trained, friendly, and ready to help at the end of the phone. The Freephone number is 0808 164 6220.  See the leaflets below for more information:
