Preparations for Dassett Country Show on Saturday 6th August at 12 noon are going well!
Look forward to seeing you there!
The District Council has to compile the electoral register from scratch each year. This week, they have sent out more than 56,000 Household Enquiry Forms (HEFs), one to each property in the district. The forms have pre-printed information on them of persons at each property who are on the system as being registered to vote.Householders need to return the forms with any changes clearly highlighted. For households where there are no changes, the District Council need to know, so residents should respond by text, phone, website or by just returning the form saying “no changes”. Details of how to respond are on each form.If there are changes e.g. new people have moved into the property, once the HEF is sent back the Council will sent each of the new people a separate form for them to register individually (they can also do this on-line).
Lily and Kerry Hope-Frost have been opening the gardens of the Old Rectory annually for thirty consecutive years. In recognition of this tremendous achievement they received a commemorative compass from National Gardens Scheme County Organiser Julia Sewell. The charity raises money for cancer and palliative care beneficiaries. This year, Avon Dassett Open Gardens raised over £3,000 for the scheme.

Dods Research has launched a new study exploring the problems faced by parents in receipt of any government benefits for their child.
They are interested in speaking to parents with children under the age of 19. The survey should take less than five minutes to complete, and all responses are anonymous. The survey is still relevant for parents who are no longer in receipt of payments, but have done so previously.
By completing the survey, there will also be the opportunity to enter the Dods prize draw to win £100 worth of shopping vouchers for Argos or John Lewis.
To take part in the survey, please click here.
The research will be open for two weeks.
Dods Research is a part of Dods Parliamentary Communications Ltd, which publishes Civil Service World and PoliticsHome, and produces Civil Service Live, Civil Service Awards and numerous other events for the public sector.
All surveys have been commissioned by a third party. All responses are anonymous. The results are used for our own publications (such as reports, Civil Service World or PublicTechnology.net), for inclusion within a thought leadership report or to gain a greater understanding of the public sector.
There will be some disruption tomorrow, 26 July, due to tree works at the top of Church Hill.
Apologies
